POLET is the second full-length album by Bulgarian folklorica trio TRIGAIDA formed by producer Ivan Shopov, folklore singer Asya Pincheva, and multi-instrumentalist Georgi Marinov (Horhe). Following the highly acclaimed debut ELATE (Etheraudio Records, 2021), its successor offers the band’s signature fusion of Bulgarian folklore and a vast spectrum of contemporary music genres. The music in POLET is energetic and uplifting but has become more complex and detailed. Once again, TRIGAIDA masterfully blends the traditional sound of Bulgaria with dance music, modern jazz, neoclassical but also contemporary rock, and world music. With the array of influences expanding so does the sound of the trio. At its peaks, POLET is a record of cinematic grandeur but its subtle nuances and calmer sections offer a delicate atmosphere of an almost meditative quality. While “Through the Storm” offer TRIGAIDA’s modern take on the original piece, the rest of the lyrics and vocal lines follow the folklore traditions, but were written by singer Asya Pincheva and two of the tracks lyrics were written by Polina Slavcheva and Asya Pincheva.

The variety of the album is achieved through the careful refinement and gradual expansion of their musical ideas and inspirations but also thanks to the contributions of an impressive line-up of collaborators who’ve assisted TRIGAIDA in bringing their already innovative music to the next level. POLET features world-renowned artists from a plethora of genres. Among TRIGAIDA’s fellow travellers in this epic genre-defying journey, you will find See Taylor (Kaya Project), Sali Okka, Dimitar Bodurov, Rossen Zahariev, Andon Trapkov (smallman), Pavel Ralev, Asen Marinov, Lubomir Smilenov, Burak Malcok, Guldeste Mamac, Maxim Anokhin and Chris Makarov (Molec).
