On disappearing in the world of the other

„Disaqpear“ looks at the personal order of world of the single individual. As Fernando Pessoa describes so accurately in his “Book of Disquiet”, while for one person a field could be the world, for the other person the world could be a field. We tend to repeat and recreate in an unreflected manner. Even in a new context and a new environment that asks for a certain degree of adaptation, we organize our world according to the same principle: an unconscious, embodied construction plan. This structural rigidity – if taken to an extreme – not only recreates the same problems and difficulties, but also prevents development and real interhuman connections. It is a kind of latent narcissism, that lets us arrange everything around ourselves. The thing that disappears is not the person, it is the individual. The movement of the other becomes background noise, the other person becomes a projection canvas for one’s own necessities, requirements and dependencies. Reaction to the other does not necessarily mean perception, but could rather be a categorization or a self-definition.
